Week 13! (And I know cause I looked at a calendar)

Hey friends and family!

Wow, what a long week! Zone conference, district meeting/ZTM, learning how to use these crazy new smartphone things... it's been pretty crazy! But it's been an awesome week.

Zone conference was mostly training on smartphones, but President Hess gave an awesome message about the importance of convert baptisms. It definitely motivated me to work harder and do my best to help convert as many people as possible to the gospel! We had zone training meeting up in Pierre on Friday, and we talked about basically the same things up there. We set a zone goal to get 8 baptisms this month, which is a ton! This mission averages 2-3 per zone per month, so it's gonna be pretty crazy.

We've been working hard the past couple days and getting a lot of doors slammed in our faces! Tracting is definitely not the most effective way of finding haha. We're gonna do our best to find through members throughout the rest of this week.

As far as investigators go, our 3 most solid ones are still Tristan, Talon, and Nikki... and we're hoping that all of them are able to be baptized before the end of May! Tristan is getting baptized this next Sunday, Talon has a date on May 22 that we're going to do everything we can to help him stick to, and we're looking to put Nikki on date the next time we see her. We're working with lots of other investigators and less actives too, but I'm not gonna go into detail explaining all of them.

It's definitely been a tough week, but it's been an awesome one! Love and appreciate you all!

Week... uhm... maybe 12?

Hey everyone!!
I'm gonna have to make this one short, I've got some other stuff left to do and I've only got fifteen minutes left on this computer, but this is the last time I'm gonna have to worry so much about time! We get smartphones tomorrow at zone conference, which means that I get to read emails every night instead of just on P-day, and I'll have a lot more time to email on Mondays! So I'm real excited about that, I'll finally have time to actually write weekly emails again.
This has been a good week, we did lots of good work here in Valentine and I think a lot of the less-actives are finally starting to come around and think about coming back to church. Both the guys we had on date fell through for church this week, which is frustrating. That means we're gonna have to push both of them back at least one week, but we're not giving up on them. They're both awesome guys who are gonna make great members of the church soon.
Like I said, we've got zone conference this next week, which I'm super excited about! It's always fun to see other missionaries, we hardly ever see anyone but ourselves being exiled in the middle of nowhere down here in Valentine haha.
Love you all lots!!

Week 9

Hey friends and family!
So I really don't have very much time at all to email today, I've been super busy doing other things and replying to some of your personal emails! But this has been a really good week, especially because of the chance we had to watch general conference! What an awesome conference it was, the Lord truly is hastening His work and it was plain to see as we heard our prophets speak last weekend! If you haven't had the chance to watch it yet, make sure to do it just as soon as you possibly can! We've got transfers coming up this week, so that's kinda exciting/nerve wracking. I'm almost 100% sure I'm gonna be staying right here in Valentine, pretty much the only change is gonna be that one of my two companions will be transferred to a new area. Other than that, we've put one more investigator on date for April 28th! I think I may have told you guys about Tristan before, but I honestly don't remember... if not, he's a little 10-year old Native kid who was recently adopted by his uncle after his mom died, and now he's going to be getting baptized! So that's been super exciting, but other than that, it hasn't been a super exciting week.
Love you all lots!
